There is so much I have learned
yet, so much I still seek to fathom
in some silent depths I feel drawn to probe
for lost pearls of happiness
which first appear, then disappear
in swirls of deep, clear water
wisps of love...hazes of fear
sometimes distorted...sometimes clear
and always the question - why?

What is this pull on my heart?
What is it urging me to start?

Is it simply a need to pursue, with persistence
the reason for sorrow's continued existence

no, I fear it is something more
long lost on a forgotten shore
calling me on and on...to explore...
